52 - The Dual Income Trap

52 - The Dual Income Trap

April 13, 2021

Today on the show, I give an explanation of of a concept popularized by US Senator Elizabeth Warren. The Dual Income Trap is when a couple builds a lifestyle around both spouses working, but then find there to be zero flexibility when kids come along or when one spouse becomes unable to work. When this happens, One of the spouses can no longer work and then there is only one income to support the previously established two income lifestyle. Listen on the episode today where I cover how to preempt this issue!

48 -The Flavors of Financial Independence

March 16, 2021

Today I break down the types (or as I like to say, the Flavors) of Financial Independence. Most people only think of Financial Independence - or FI - as a "one and done" or "All or Nothing" approach. In fact, there are about a half dozen different off shoots of FI. Each involves different strategies, goal numbers, and time commitments. Be sure to check out this episode to learn more about: LeanFIRE, FatFIRE, CoastFIRE, and BaristaFIRE.
