55 - A Bank's Role in an Economy
Tuesday May 04, 2021
Tuesday May 04, 2021
Today we talk about the biggest and most important institutions of the global economy. Banks perform several vital roles in ensuring that money is constantly flowing through the economy so that productivity can keep going with little to no hiccups. Banks are sort of like the Robin Hood of the economy. They take money from the "rich" and loan it to the "poor". The terms rich and poor here refer to the amount of cash you have on hand and not your wealth. Tune in to hear how banks redistribute wealth and balance out the economy!

Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
Tuesday Apr 27, 2021
Today we talk about another way that you can be a partial owner of a company. Shares of preferred stock are not quite equity, and not quite bonds, but are they really a Goldilocks middle-ground between the two? Preferred shares have characteristics of both bonds and common stock, but most importantly; they are an additional asset class that can be held to further diversify your portfolio while providing an income.

52 - The Dual Income Trap
Tuesday Apr 13, 2021
Tuesday Apr 13, 2021
Today on the show, I give an explanation of of a concept popularized by US Senator Elizabeth Warren. The Dual Income Trap is when a couple builds a lifestyle around both spouses working, but then find there to be zero flexibility when kids come along or when one spouse becomes unable to work. When this happens, One of the spouses can no longer work and then there is only one income to support the previously established two income lifestyle. Listen on the episode today where I cover how to preempt this issue!
